graphic, web, email design
I've been using Photoshop for about ten years, but I was entirely self-taught, using online tutorials and trial and error. I've been very fortunate to also be involved in music as a career. That has allowed me to meet a lot of musicians to design t-shirts, album cover art, band logos, event posters, and websites. I was capable of doing some projects, but I was lacking the knowledge to do everything I wanted to do in the industry, on all the Adobe products, especially Illustrator and Dreamweaver, so I looked into schools, and after years of deliberation, I selected Specs Howard School of Media Arts.
I finished a study in graphic design at Specs Howard, and am working on developing my style which utilizes clean layouts and balance, and I love to play with white space.
We learned about the industry and each assignment was based around something that could be utilized in a professional atmosphere. We focused on Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. I didn't think I would develop a love for hand coding websites, but learning about Dreamweaver and site design has sparked a new passion.
Since completing Specs, I worked for a publishing company, I worked doing email HTML for a year, and am now working as a Digital Content Administratr (basically all web, but HR didn't want to put web in my job title). I also have been doing freelance graphic and web design.
A lot of the early work I received was from friends in bands who wanted promotional posters made.
These are examples of postcards, magazine ads, and brochures used to communicate a new product.
